Floor lamps in home offices/study rooms are a great way to control the lighting levels without relying on overhead lighting, which can be oppressive on its own. Floor lamps provide atmospheric lighting or task lighting, depending on what you need. A single floor lamp can be quite powerful in terms of lighting the room. They don't have to be bulky, many are quite slim and discreet. Or perhaps you want a power statement, or something sculptural and pretty to gaze at when needing inspiration to crack on.
