Ceiling lights in your study should be bright, discreet and fairly flat to the ceiling. They need to work, just like you. Because most studies are not very large, you can get away with a single ceiling light of a small to medium size. There may be occasions when you're spinning in your chair, looking upwards for inspiration, so it's a good idea to get a ceiling light that prevents glare by having a diffuser on the bottom. 

Top Tip: Some ceiling lights shine light back up onto the ceiling. This can be a welcome effect in a home office.
